Rocks

So we've been building a waterfall and now a decking so thats what I've been doing most mornings. Yesterday a Pete the chippy came over and helped to construct the decking. Later on he invited us around for a bbq which was good fun and it was my first barbie.

Today I drove my self to Agnes and was going to go surfing. Yet I didn't go surfing because of the lack of surf so that was annoying, instead I got a skim board. I stay down there for a few hours and tricked and skim boarded. And thats all really. I will probably be here until Sunday then I might head of to Bundaberg.

Australia day

So, I've mostly been moving around rocks and helping to build a waterfall feature. I'll take pictures some other time. It looks good so far.

Yesterday was Australia day which was the 26th of Jan. Australia day is like the day when it was founded or something, theres beers and barbies all over on Australia day.

We went down to the local tavern at baffle creek. They had loads of games like marbles, boat races, mullet tossing, welly throwing, casting, toad races, snail races and all sorts of fun. I lost at marbles and welly throwing, miserably. Oh well it was fun though. I had a few glasses of Victoria Bitter one of the Australian bitters, not bad. Quite strong though. They don't have pints over here so the nearest thing to a pint is a scooner. No idea what it means though.

I came home pretty early, I drove the auto home. Then Glen stayed down the tavern and waited for ray to finish work, he works there. Whilst I was here I watched 4 weddings and a funeral and read some more of Jackie chans autobiography. Which i slike 400 odd pages and I've read about 330 in a few days. Which is condsidering I don't read! Not much else to report pretty mild today, cloudy and over cast still humid though.

Thursday

Ok. Woke up pretty early about 7. Fed the animals. Then glen and I started to build some kind of waterfall rock feature wall type thing. Did that until about midday. Its bloody hot today seriously its soo bad. They have this old 4by4 which they call the bush basher. I'm allowed to drive it around the property and stuff its awesome lol.

They also said I would be able to drive their automatic car, if I wanted to go to the beach and stuff. I have a British driving license which they said is ok here and the insurance here is different so thats all cool. I've also started to read Jackie Chan's autobiography. Seeing as I finished my last book "thumbs up australia".

G'day

Soo, I woke up at 5am and got ready for my bus journey that departed Brisbane Transirt centre at 7am. It took ages to get too Agnes waters but it was ok there was lots of scenery and lots of sleep to be had. So once I arrived I was picked up by Glen and he took us too his house which is in Baffle creek about 40 minutes away from Agnes. Its a nice area.

Its really in the bush, theres nothing around apart from trees and wild kangarros and snakes. I saw a carpet snake last night which was trying to get the chickens. There are a few animals here things like cattle, pigs, dogs, goat and a few other things. Its a really nice place and the people are helpful and friendly.

Today Glen took us up to this little beach on the national park which was amazing. Totally secluded and it had all these rock pools which was awesome. Then he took us to 1770 to look around and then to Agnes. IT was a cool day and I got to see a lot. So today was a rather easy day. I've got some pictures but I'll put them up tommorrow. Every thing here is all cool and good. Hope you're all ok!

Alright

Ok today I went surfing. I woke upa t 3.30 am stayed awake until 4 when every one else woke up got ready go to steves for 5am and then we waited for his mates. We then drove down to the gold coast to a place called Currumbin. I was pretty tired after waking up so early haha but it was good fun. Steve was teaching me what to do to begin with but its soo hard. I though you could just swim out hop on and surf but oh no, theres much more to it than that. First you have to battle your way through all the waves which some times come over your head so you're constantly being bashed around trying to stay on your surf board. So once you get out there you then have time time it perfectly to catch the wave and then try and stand up, so all in all its pretty hard. It was good fun though, glad I did it. Hopefully up in 1770 near Agnes Waters I will be able to hire surf boards and practice.

Later on today I'm going to pack all my stuff and then have every thing ready for tommorrow. I have to get up about 5ish and then get to the transit centre in Brisbane city by at least 6.30 so I can check in and then get ready for the coach. The whole trip will be 11 hours yay. Oh well I guess its all part of the whole thing, should be ok though i've got a few books to read. I'm not too sure if Ill have internet access too often, so I'll have to wait and see. Hopefully I will. If not I'll try and contact every one when I can. Bye for now.

Recently in my life..

I've been up to the Sunshine coast and looked around. I've been down to the gold coast and down to Surfers paradise to look around. Both of which are really nice places. Loads of beaches and clear blue sea. I prefer the gold coast to the Sunshine coast because it seemed a little less busier and spread out. Then again it could be totally different next time I go. Noosa was hugely built up in one area so there were people every where but in Surfers paradise its a lot more spead out. Both good places to visit, if I were to stay I'd probably try and stay in Surfers Paradise for a few days or something, was pretty cool there.

Tommorrow I'm going to be going surfing at 5am down to the Gold coast with Steve and Andrew and their mates. Should be fun, I'm looking forward to surfing. I can't come to Australia and not surf. Woo.

On Monday I'm going up to Agnes Waters for 2 weeks to work on an Eco-Retreat type place. The people I've been speaking too appear really friendly. So it should all be good, I'm pretty excited because from the pictures the area looks amazing. My bus leaves at 7 am and doesn't get there til' 6.10 pm so its one hell of a bus journey. Oh well, it will be worth it.

Alrighty then

Ok so today we went for a bit of a drive to Noosa to see Alice Anne. Then we went along the Sunshine coast to see the different beaches and I went for a swim a couple of times. I'm now even more slightly tanned, woo for tanning. Was a nice day, nice and hot and sunny. Not much else really. Pretty tired now.

The Sunshine coast was awesome, was really topically. Lots of palm trees and clear blue seas all very pretty. Nice to go and visit. Most of the areas were a bit built up and touristy. Like Noosa Heads, which was nice but a little to built up for my liking. Ahh well. I'm going to put some photos up in a bit.

Umm

Yeah, it would see that Jennie's internet has a limit on it of 500 mb a month and it seems I've gone over it, oops. So recently I've been up to Toowoomba to see Maree and we went down to Oakey, all around that area is inland so there are lots of open spaces and lots of farms. All pretty cool but very different from where I am now.

I went into the city yesterday via the bus and then I went around and did a little bit of shopping and then I met Jennie. We then went to the Museum and the art gallery all of which were pretty interesting and all free! Bonus.

I'm not going to put any pictures on here today maybe tommorrow once I sort them out and stuff. My plans have slightly changed now. I think I will just go up to Miriam vale and then volunteer there for 2 weeks and stay with them. After that I'll probably go to Bundabery or childers and stay in a working hostel and do some fruit picking or something for 2 -3 weeks to get some extra money then come back down to meet Joseph Munroseph. Hope every ones ok and email me damn it.

Fritag!

Today I woke up pretty earlyish and got ready and then Andrew took me up to Steve irwins australia zoo. It was only about an hour away and distance wise around here its pretty good quick journey for most aussies. Any hoo we got there and looked around it was really cool, lots of live demonstrations and talks every where, all of which were interesting. I saw loads of animals, turtles, comodo dragons, lizards, asian otto's, elephants, tigers, kangaroo's, koalas, snakes and loads of different things. I also went to the crocoseum where they have talks about a few of the animals and bring in these huge salt water crocs, which was real cool.

After we had been down to stevo zoo, we went up to caloundra and went to the beach for a little swim because its been a real hot day today. It was quite a nice beach, we only stayed for an hour or so. Now I have a little bit of a tan and a small bit of sun burn so it won't be long before I'm brown lol. Today's been pretty good and if you come to Brisbane you should check out the zoo.
Tommorrow we might go and see Maree in Toowoomba which should be interesting. Hopefully if Steve has time we will go surfing. I really want to go surfing to try it out, it looks awesome. Any way not much else to say, heres some piccies.

My last two days

Soo, I'm getting used to the time difference here and I'm settling in and just getting used to it. Every thing seems to make more sense now haha. Jennies been really nice and kind and has been taking me around and showing me bits and pieces here and then, and just genereally really helpful, of which I'm grateful for.

Yesterday which was tuesday, I went into the city on the bus and met A guy called Joel, who is a tricker and lives close to Brisbane city. I met him and his friend in the city and walked around a bit and I bought a few things here and there. We then decided to meet up later at his. Soo I came home to Jennies house and had something to eat and then Jennie kindly took me up to Ferny station where I met Joel and his friend Matt and his Mum picked us up and took us too his house. At his house we played poker (which I learnt to play that evening) and just played video games and watched t.v

Today which is currently Wednesday, Jennie picked me up from his house in Samford, which is quite a ruraly area near some mountains. After she picked me up we came back here to Jennie's house and then I got ready and we went off to the airport to meet maree, who was flying back from Eddies in Canberra. We met her and talked for a bit and then left. It was nice to meet her again. We may go up to Toowoomba where she lives and meet her again.

After that on the way back we stopped off in the national park which is really close and it has a little animal sanctuary with wallabys, kangaroo's, all kinds of birds, turtles, fish and even a platypuss (spelling ?). That was cool, you were able to walk around the kangaroos and one came up to me and starting licking me haha. So I have a picture of that.

Andrew, Jennie's son came home today, he drove all the way from mackay. I think hes finished in the mines now and plans to become a helicopter pilot of some sorts, so that will be interesting.
Stephen's, parents in law are coming over to dinner today as they
are moving. So i'll get to meet them.
In the morning, if it all goes to plan, Stephen will hopefully take me to the beach for my first surfing session, so that will be something too look forward. I'm ok every thing here is great yay :)

Plans

Well here are my basic plans for now. Right now I'll stay where I am for the next 2 weeks or maybe a little longer and explore around here and go to the zoo and other things. After that I plan to head up north not too sure which places i'm going to visit. But I know i'll go along the coast. Places I think I'll go to are Noosa, Hervey bay and to Fraser island, Bundaberg, Miriam Vale and maybe up to Rockhampton. Along they way there are loads of national parks, mountains, beaches and all sorts so there will be loads to do.

Along the trip I plan to stay in hostels, organic farms and various things like that to make it all cheap. I'm part of several communities which some require you to volunteer for your board and food others you can stay at peoples houses for free and various other things. I've been offered to stay some where in Miriam Vale. Heres what they sent me.

Hi Jason If you would like to see true Aussie bush lifestyle we would be happy tohost..See our blog on our host profile...we are located 5 hours north of brisbane, just below 1770 and Agnes Water.Turtles nest on our local beaches and the fishing is abundant.. MiriamVale is the closest train station/ bus depot. We are always happy to pickup helpers from there..hope you decide to come for a visitRay and Glen

So I think I'll take there offer up, I've already emailed them so I'm awaiting a reply. So thats a good help any way. I still need to do some more research and work out roughly where I'll go and stay but I have a fair bit of time. After I've done my initial travelling up northish, I'll come back down to me Joe around the 1st of march and we'l go down south through sydney, canberra, and then to melbourne. Of course we will stay in different towns and villages along the way like byron bay and surfers paradise.

A picture of me at South bank, Brisbane river.

My weekend

Ook soo I arrived on saturday and I went too the local supermarket just to get a few bits and also went for a small walk around the streets and parks. It all feels a bit strange at the minute the wildlife here makes a lot more noise than it does at home. There are loads of parrots and bush turkey things and lizards climbing up trees, its all rather interesting mind you.

Soo far i'm just trying to adjust to the times here, its kind of confusing. Saturday I slept from 5pm till about 4 am and last night I slept from about 9pm till 5 am. It gets light here really early as well about 4.30 in the morning. Yesterday was about 30 c and today its a bit hotter about 32 - 33. So it won't be long before I get a tan. Because I woke up early on sunday morning I went tricking at about 8 am in the park, was really good. I'll probably make a small video once I collect together enough footage.

Yesterday Jennie took me into the city too have a look around and to do a bit of shopping. We first went to china town to have a look around, they had all kinds of open stalls and restaraunts. Its was quite cool, I bought a pair of sunglasses for 15 dollars which is about 6 pounds or something so it was pretty cheap.

After we had been into china town we went into the main city and into the mall, which is called myler mall, i think thats what its called any way I got a coupla pairs of shorts for 7 dollars each sooo thats cheap and I got some sandals for 15 dollars. Every body wears sandles here because its hot.

Later that evening we went to South bank which is on the other side of the river. Over there it has all these walk ways and board walks and loads of interesting things as well as art centres and stuff like that. It also has a beach type swimming poll thing which was pretty interesting. We walked around there and got something to eat and then left and went back.

Made it alive woop woop

Sooooo, yeah I left for Brisbane on the 4th of Jan and its now the... 6th of jan. Went from Heathrow to hong kong, to sydney and then finally to brisbane (where I'm staying). It wasn't too bad over all for my first flight, although I do feel rather crap as of now and my ears have gone spazzo because of the air pressure when the flight went to land.

I managed to get my self lost in sydney airport, its soo confusing. There were loads of flights coming in, so there were loads of people every where, lining in up in all directions. So after getting lost I managed to find my way to the check in office and then I had to get a bus to the domestic airport, but I made it there in time.

Soo far in Brisbane its fairly hot about 29 c, pretty humid and its just rained. Yeah, Jennies been really nice to me as well, so every thing here is cool. Just gotta get into the swing of things. Can't think of much else to say but i'm missing my family and friends a bit. I'll be ok in a few days once I get settled in and catch up on time and sleep.
Heres a few photos.

My excursion to Australia

Well first let me introduce my self, my names Jason and I'll be 19 on July the 21st 2007 but for now I'm 18. I currently reside in a small village called Holme Next The Sea which is in Norfolk, United Kingdom. Its a nice place to grow up but as you get older living in this part of the world lacks the kind of opportunities that I want, hence why I plan on doing a lot of travelling.

I'm going to start in Australia. My flight departs on the 4th of Jan 2007. Which is a Thursday, I'll be arriving in Brisbane on a Saturday ( so i'll be going in a time machine haha). Any way to begin with my kind relative, Jennie has offered to let me stay there for a while to settle in and get used to it, so hopefully I'll be in Brisbane for a while. I also hope to work in Brisbane for a little while to earn some extra money. After my initial stay in Brisbane I'm not too sure where i'll end up. I guess I plan to explore around Brisbane area first then work my way down to Sydney, then Canberra and then Melbourne and providing on the circustances maybe Perth. Oh I also forgot to mention that My flight leaves Australia the 7th of June so I shall be There for quite some time. *runs out of stuff to say* I'll have to see where I end up, I have a lot planned in my head but we will have to see haha.

So if any one who is travelling around Australia or any one interested in Martial arts or tricking would likke to meet me or contact me then please do Oh and happy new year to you all.
Just a pic of me.
